It's actually lower than the C1 subscription price, should you choose to go that route. Well, it seems that Adobe has held their price steady. Part of the reason I switched to C1 was that I was afraid Adobe would raise the price of their subscription after a while. I made the decision to go back to LR (I used LR prior to using C1). They just don't seem to be progressing with their features. Definitely not worth the cost of the upgrade. To me, the C1 v20 and 21 were so so upgrades.
#Capture one pro 9 vs lightroom full version#
I just bought a Nikon Z5, so I needed to either upgrade C1 to the full version that supports all manufacturers, or switch to LR. I own the C1 version for Fuji and have had a great experience. Found it so powerful for my other cameras, I immediately abandoned LR which had been my goto. PS: I've been a C1 user since the beginning, learned it when I took up Phase MF backs. I haven’t opened LR in years and only touch NXD for a new camera while waiting on C1 to release for it. I have both the C1 Pro and PS photo package subscriptions so I have access to all.
However the results from learning and using it are second to none. LR is stable and uniform and certainly does a good job.Ĭ1 is slower to market with camera updates, and it will likely be a few weeks before Zii support is out. Nikon’s NXD does a great job, gives great detail, noise and color, but it’s clugy to use. If you shoot RAW then Capture One isn't an option for you unless you convert your files to TIFF or another supported format. In fact CO 21 doesn't support them either. However I will say I find Capture One to be a lot better than LRC, but I have noticed that Capture One 20 hasn't received any updates for RAW support for the Nikon 6/7ii or Lumix S5. After leaving Adobe for the last few years, I realized I spent way more money on alternatives that were incomplete solutions.ġ00% their pricing for updating is absurd, and in the end it's cost me way more than my LRC subscription. The other thing that has bothered me is the terrible plugin or external editor support in Capture One that has not improved.
#Capture one pro 9 vs lightroom update#
After using CO Pro 12 and 20, I opted to go back to the LR/PS with the Adobe Photography plan after the meh update of CO Pro to version 21 and the price increase ($199 for a version upgrade).
I really like the colors and output from LR with my Z6, no experience with the Z7. Capture One has only recently included enhanced support for Nikon, so that evaluation might change in the future. I like Capture One better, yet Lightroom seems a bit more stable. I get great results with my Z 6 and Capture One Pro 20, but their pricing shenanigans and a very “meh” 21 update leave a sour taste in my mouth. They have promised end of the month (presumably only for Capture One Pro 21 and not 20). I just picked up a Nikon Z6 II, it is my first time back with Nikon in a long time and I wonder if you guys recommend sticking with Lightroom for processing or if perhaps Capture One gets more out of those Nikon files? Or is Capture NX-D worth a look?Ĭapture One.but the learning curves can be steep but.if you like the film look.you would like Capture One.Ĭapture One does not support Z 6II RAWs yet. Capture One or Lightroom for Nikon files?.
